Today I’m having a massive throw-out of old clothes – shirts, jackets and trousers I should have got rid of years ago. In come instances, decades ago. They will go down to the tip for recycling.
On the other hand, I’m resurrecting some good shirts (that I bought some years ago) which I have not worn for want of a button.
I’m currently reading several books. The writing of Paulo Coelo is suiting me at the present time. Have just read Like the Flowing River and have started Aleph, which promises to be a good read.

Halfway through Aleph. Fascinating. Writing of “….the present moment, for that is where all signs, parallel worlds and miracles are to be found”.
I’ve been researching the Phoenix. Fascinating bird which periodically sets fire to itself and is reborn from its own ashes. Apparently, the Phoenix was used as an allegory of resurrection in early Christianity.
So: can one reinvent oneself?
Or, rather, is reinvention a passive experience, a Damascus experience, outside conscious control? Unbidden. A metanoia, an enantiodromia? Is it a discovery of what is already there, and requires unpacking?

I’ve just finished Paulo Coelo’s Aleph and can recommend it. A wonderful tale of present love, past-life relationships and entanglements, synchronicities and the general magic which (I hope) lies beneath the surface of the everyday, awaiting discovery.
Currently reading Napoleon Hill’s Think and Grow Rich.
